About Leon's Transmissions

Bring your automobile into your local Leon’s Transmission service center and experience why we’ve been one of the most trusted names in the automotive care and repair industry for close to 60 years.

Leon's Transmissions is an auto repair shop in Glendale, California. It is listed at 6911 San Fernando Rd, Glendale, CA 91201, which places it among the local businesses of Glendale that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as car repair and maintenance service, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

In Glendale, shops are busiest on Monday mornings and before holiday weekends, so a mid-week appointment gets a car seen faster. Labor rates across California vary by neighborhood and by shop type, from small independents to dealership service bays, and mobile mechanics now cover many routine jobs in the driveway. Before authorizing a repair, ask for the estimate in writing, whether the shop warranties parts and labor (12 months / 12,000 miles is common, some offer more), and whether it can provide a loaner or a shuttle. Check the listing for hours, the makes the shop works on and its Google rating, then call ahead, since walk-in capacity is limited at smaller shops.

Hours are published for 5 days a week. The most common schedule is 8 am–5 pm. It is closed on Saturday, Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Leon's Transmissions at (818) 844-2200; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. More information is available on its website, leonstransmission.com.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.6 out of 5 from 53 reviews, which is a strong result for an auto repair shop in Glendale and suggests consistent service.

Glendale is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Glendale follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I’ve been going here off a recommendation and my last visit was the latest in great service I received here, and confidence I’m driving a car in good shape. Everybody I’ve dealt with have always been friendly and good with updating me about my car. Thank you.

If I could give Leon's Transmission more than 5 stars I absolutely would! I had what I thought was a transmission leak and Julio was able to get me in the next morning to check it out. He was SO helpful and explained everything to me so that I understood what was going on with my car. They are honest, fair, and will not charge you for services you don't need. Highly recommend them and will be returning if I have any other car problems!

I'd already taken my vintage 1994 dodge van to two other mechanics who couldn't do anything beyond diagnosis, due to the age of the vehicle and their inability to access the transmission. The estimates for "what it would cost if you can find someone" were on par with what I paid at Leon's, so I was prepared for the work costing more than I paid for the vehicle. HOWEVER I'm glad I came here because Chris and his crew put the van back together so tight, it feels like new and can really take a corner now. And that's not even touching that they rebuilt the transmission like I asked them to! Highly recommended if you have an older vehicle that you want to keep around! (They do new cars too. But I don't.)

We all know the nightmares of trying to find a trusting place to take our vehicles. But let me tell u about this GREAT place. Leon's Transmission has a few locations so thisbreview is only for this particular location. The honesty, the customer service, and the kindness of the crew at this location is above and beyond par. The manager, Ben, and his team are very thorough when they explain something and very thorough with the work that they do. I would recommend this place as long as it's Ben and his team that are there now. So if they leave, I'm positive I would follow wherever the go. They've got a loyal customer in me.

I can not recommend this place enough! Super reliable and honest. We had to get our transmission repaired on our Elantra. First time was in October and the price was very fair. We started to have the same issue about 7 months later. We took the car back and they looked it over. I wasn’t looking forward to spending more money but I was happily surprised when they said they would take care of it at no charge. It was still under warranty and they were very apologetic for not seeing the issue the first time. They are truly the best! Thank you to the entire staff for the great service!
